Hey All!

I have a three year old who LOVES to chew. Now luckily she is through most of the phase of chewing up momma's personal belongings...on occasion she will take a tour of my laundry basket but no to much any more...

She loves those white and blue plastic $1 nylabones from walmart but I am wondering how safe those are for her...she has three and well...they don't look like bones any longer. She loves them.

I have heard of the Galelieo bone (not sure on spelling) but it is for the toughest chewers. Has anyone else heard of it? It's revatively new. Has any one tried it? Do they last?

Hope to hear from you guys soon,

Eleanor Rigby

I like kongs for my dogs. I also use the large nylabones. The kongs get stuffed with their food and capped off with peanut butter. if you really want them to work for their food either soak their food in water stuff the kong and freeze it, or mix their food with yogurt and freeze it. oh and honey has natural anti bacterial properties so you can swirl some around inside the kong to discourge any bacterial growth. Other than that my dogs get the standard toys, stuffed toys (loofa dogs are their favorite stuffed toy) and for when its not muddy out they love to herd a soccer or basketball around the yard.

I would do Kongs I find the theory of it ideal...but I don't want to clean up diarreah everyday. We just went through several food changes...that was rough and now we are on Taste of the wild...great stuff I'm not kidding!

What I have found with Eleanor is that she just likes to gnaw on things. So I'm trying to go that route without diarreah

Buck loves his Kongs and I don't stuff them.  He chews away happily on them without all the treats.

There are toys that are made of the same stuff that fire hoses are made out of that are meant for strong chewers....Buck destroyed his in a day lol but I've heard other people say that their dogs love it and it withstands the chewing.

She does have a Kong...there are three or four in the house she was chewing on one the other day...but she doesn't usually. I don't know she is an unusal pup. But I will check into the fire hydrant!
