| I have an eskipoo dog. She weights 23lbs and her length is about 18 and her H is about 15". I purchased a Large Sherpa Pet Carrier (18" L x 11" H, for 22lbs) for her because I want to be able to travel with her on an airplane. She is fully trained to go in her bag, and she gets really excited to see it! I tell her to go in her bag, she runs and jumps in it. If I only have the side door open she goes inside and curls up and lays down. Although she is fully trained to be in her bag "comfortably" its obvious that she cant fully stand up if she wants to. She has learned the command "turnaround" and I've taught her how to turn herself around in the bag, but ultimately, is she too big to fly? Will the airlines allow her on board if she can't fully stand? She can turn around and lay down in the bag comfortably, will they allow this? What airlines will also allow a 25 lb dog? I know some have weight limits. Thanks for your help with this. She goes everywhere with me, but we've yet to fly together and I want to make sure that I won't have an issue at the airport because she can't fully stand up.

| I actually just read a little tidbit in "Modern Dog" magazine. Pet Airways have introductory one-way fares starting at $149. Pets fly first class, have trained pet attendants that check on pets every 15 mins, vet approved climate conditions and potty breaks. (fall 2009 issue p14 by Karin Sinkevicius)

| It sounds to me like she has plenty of room. I have traveled with my chihuahua under the seat, and can tell you that I have not run across an airline that cares if your pet can turn around. What they do care about is if your pet is up to date on shots, and I know that US Airways and American Airlines will not let you travel with your dog if she is not microchipped - even in the passenget cabin. That and Rabies shots. I travel internationally, and they will check the paperwork at check-in. Not all countries will check the paperwork when you come in, but it's a good idea that you have travel documents up to date. Additionally, international trave requires that you have documentation no less than 10 days old stating that your dog is healthy, and it must be not less than 10 days old to return to the US too!! This may mean a vet visit before returning home, so be sure to chek with your vet where travel documents are concerned. You don't want to take anything for granted, lest you are detained at the airport because all docs aren't in order. But size-wise - sounds good to me. Good luck.
