If pure breed dogs have so many medical problems, why do people keep breeding them?

You get what you pay for, plain and simple.
So you can not complain later.

Yeah that!

We usually are, are we not?  I think even when we THINK we are not, we really are.  LOL.

I have worked with dogs for many years and I am just discusted at how many pure bred dogs have so many medical issues but breeders keep breeding them, why? it is cruel in my book to breed animals that have hip problems, eye disorders, ear, joints, cancer and so many more just because they do not have the genetic diversity they should have. I have recently started to study hybrids and breeds that are three or more in the types of breeds that are mixed together and have found that even after three to five years of age, the dogs have had very few or no medical problems at all. If this can be the case with 60 to 80 percent of all dogs, why not go with making of mixed breeds rather than pure bred?

Hi! Well, the sad thing is that we have Puppy Mills and Back Yard Breeders who breed for money, they never do health tests. As a responsible breeder of pure bred dogs, I perform health tests on my dogs, I never breed unless they pass them!
