Our little Stella is doing really well with her training....we're only having 1 issue....she doesn't ASK to go out to do her business.

We take her in and out the same door....when she goes out to do the business it's roughly around the same times each day....she's doing great with no accidents in the house.

We just have no idea if she HAS to go out.  She won't go to the door on her own...or bark...nothing.

suggestions????

Don't worry about it.  Dogs can wait a long time between "Outside" trips.  If your pup is going in and out every couple of hours, and you know her habits - she's good to go.  If she really, really gets desperate for whatever reason, you may see her circling around or running to the door when she thinks you may be ready to take her out.  If she's not "asking" to go out, you're doing fine.  she's going out often enough.  If she's not having accidents, she's doing well.  They don't get this desperate "I have to go feeling" like we do, unless she really goes a long time between outside trips, and it sounds like she's getting enough outside trips to me.

Have fun and enjoy your pup

I never could get my dog to ask to go out either. He will only cry if its been a really long time and he can't possibly hold it anymore. He doesn't bark or scratch at the door- never could train him to. Atleast she's not having any accidents.
