I have a pure breed Pit Bull. He is sooo sweet. But ever since we got him 5 months ago, he has had this growth on his hine leg. At first it was red, and as he grew as did the growth. Now when ever he would play it would catch on the kiddy pool and it would start to bleed. Now it's skin tone, and dried up. At first I was thinking tumor, but now It almost looks like dried up skin getting ready to fall off. I really don't know what to make of it? I'm lost. If you have had a similar thing happen with your dog could you let me know what happened with it; like if it just went away, or you had it removed and found out what it was. That would be wonderful.

Oh and it doesn't seem to bother him, even if you touch it.

thanks a bunch,

Natasha and my pit buster.

Your best bet, honestly, is to have a vet look at it. May be nothing, may be something.

Totally agree! When in doubt, check with the vet! Good luck!

my dog had a weird, raised lump under his chin. i put dog first aid creme on it and watched it for a week. it didnt get better, so i took him in to the vet. turned out to be dog acne (seriously), but it was the best 40$ for peace of mind ive spent in a while!

moral of the story, i agree with the other posties. you will feel better for it, and so might your dog.

If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them.  ~Phil Pastoret

I agree with the rest , ask a vet.
It could be just a fat tumor, but one never knows.
Better be safe then sorry.
