Someone who raises guide dogs on another website keeps talking about studies conducted by their guide dog school that prove that "the common brands" like Iams are the best. But whenever I ask them for more info and for links or more specific sources, they just say that the studies are not available to the public. Makes me wonder...well, anyway, I e-mailed the Guide Dogs of America about it tonight.
Just wondering if anyone here knows anything about these rumored studies? I doubt that they even exist (or if they do, they may be old studies), as this person is behaving very rudely with me and seems to me like someone who wants to stir up trouble or is too high-minded to consider other possibilities. But still, if these do exist, I want to have a look-see at them. I seriously doubt that I'll find anything legit, but, hey, it's worth the look in my view.

I have never heard of those studies. most likely that food is being donated by the manufacturer. the guide dog school I raise for gets food donated by purina and science diet so that is what they feed, it is up to the puppy raisers to buy whatever food they want for the puppy while they have it. Of course the guide dog school I raise for is a small one that relys on donations and grants.

Okay, the GDA has not answer my e-mail yet, and I'm beginning to think they won't.

The person who told me about the studies says the the guide dog school hasn't made their studies or the results thereof public knowledge because it isn't their job. Okay, riiight. I thought that was suspicious from the start, but I took it with a grain of salt. Second, when I ask him for the contact info for the specific school they talk about (which remains unnamed), he told me no because he didn't want me berating the school. I even tried under certain conditions that basically made it impossible for me to berate the school even if I wanted to (but which would let me tell others if I found that the studies were false or invalid) , and his answer was still no. Even fishier...it's just fishy all around. I'm still looking for the school, so I can find out with 100% certainty about these rumored studies, however.
It smells like a fish, walks like a fish, and talks like a fish, though...so I now take his "informative" posts on pet food even less seriously than at first.
I'm very frustrated. I cannot hold a civil conversation on dog foods with this guy. Everything else, fine. But pet food? Nope. He treats me like I'm a crafty word-twister with malicious intentions. And I'm not the only one who he's treated like that, according to some of my friends. In short, he acts exactly like someone with a twisted agenda, and who is trying to cover up the fishy parts. I'm through trying to glean sources and tangible facts out of him.
