I have an 8 month old gorgeous black lab papered and all. I have always wondered how you can get involved in modeling your dog in their breed calendar, at petsmart, etc. Does anyone have any idea how to get involved in that?

PetSmart I know has a Halloween dress-up contest, but modeling wise that would be AKC or UKC conformation dog shows.

Not to burst your bubble, but first remember that everyone thinks THEIR dog is georgeous... and that there are tens and tens of thousands of 'papered' Labs in the US alone.

Other than that, if it is something you want to do, try to start small.  Offer your dog for shoots to local photographers and small time ad agencies.  Hit the phone book and start mailing letters with some good professional shots of your dog.

You'd better get training too... they will expect you to be able to control the dog very well, to keep him where they need him.... they may want him in any one of a number of situations, some w/ strangers in close contact.  Be prepared, be ready for anything.
