So I have a litter of pitbull pups due at the end of July/early August! I bred Ralphie to a blue tri female. I cant wait to see the pups and all the different colors and markings When the litter is born ill be sure to post pictures and update as they get bigger

Heres the female I bred Ralphie to, her names Mocha I have her at my house until the litter is due and the pups are old enough to be weaned.

I can't wait for my Belle's first litter! she is 2 1/2 years old and is UKC pointed so her next heat cycle which should be sometime in November I will be breeding her. I just have to pick a stud I would like to use Dusty, but we will see how his show career goes and what his co-owner says

Thank you And if anyone is interested in getting a pup from the litter let me no, Im located in Michigan. And rainsmom I hope all goes well when you breed your dog, youll have to post pics of the stud and pups when they come! Im getting so excited I cant wait to see the pups, there going to be beautiful Ill keep everyone updated. After this litter is weaned and find loving homes, Im going to be breeding him to a Red and white female and after that litter a blue and white female. Im going to keep a pup from each litter. Iv had alot of rude remarks from people saying I dont need to breed dogs and theres so many dogs out there already, but all im trying to do is improve the breed and teach people about these dogs, Im not out for the money, thats my last concern, I care about the health and future of these dogs much more than making money off them. Iv been breeding dogs for many years and spend alot of time and money with every pup that I get out of a litter. But like I said if anyone is interested in a puppy let me no and ill be updating

I didn't know you live in Michigan! I live in Ohio I think its about a 2 hour drive from my town to Ann Arbor.

At least you are breeding for the right reasons! Their are some people that will be against you for breeding no matter what. As long as you know you are doing the right thing I would ignore the others!

I will definetly post pics when I have a litter!

Me and my husband just moved from Ypsilanti Mi to Garden City MI ! Thats neat, your not really far at all!

I get rude remarks all the time for having pitbulls alone, but the most when they see I have a cat, or have the dogs around my kid, or my horses, people freak out and say I wouldnt ever have those dogs around my kids or animals you must be waiting for those dogs to attack!! I just smile and walk away. Im pretty much used to it by now, it just gets to me when they complain about me breeding my dogs. But not everyone feels the same way I do.

But I better get my kid off to bed. Ill keep in touch, have a wonderful night

Congratulations on the puppies.   You are the owner of some very large responsibilities.     Speaking from experience... I'm in the process of raising a litter... my threesome has reached the age of eight weeks.  Puppies are a lot of worry, work, fun, and sometimes heartbreak.  You can have people tell you that all day long... but, you don't really know what they mean until you experience it for yourself.  Thankfully, I have a wonderful mentor who has been sharing a lot of the tricks of the trade with me.  Whoever thinks a litter of puppies are all fun and play needs to have there head examined.

You need to purchase yourself a Precision Pet Puppy Pen.  These pens are a bit pricey, but they are worth it in the long run.  They keep the puppies off the mess and therefore more germ free.  I made the mistake of not purchasing one,  because of the price and therefore had some puppies with runny poo and had to give a round of antibodies.  You can clean up after the brood just fine during the day... but are you prepared to get up every four hours to check during the night?

I once was dead set against pitbulls.  Cesar Millan's show taught me a lot.  The guy loves these dogs, but he will tell you that not everyone can own a pitbull.   If they(owners) are not prepared to be a packleader and give the dog the excersise that they need in order to stay of a sound mind.    If someone has done the research and has decided that they are capable of the responsibilities that a pitbull involves that's great.

But, really the same goes for all breeds... not everyone is suited for every breed.    I for one aren't crazy about the goofiness of terriers...  which I think the pitbull falls into...  "oops"  Sorry, but really... you may not be suited for a Shetland Sheepdog.

I know that Pits are extremely popular down here in the south.   I'm afraid SC is considered a redneck state for a reason and I sometimes get the feeling that the popularity of these dogs are simply the owners trying on the "look at me, I'm tough" attitude.    It's sad, but until these types of people can become responsible and not just use these dogs for showing off... it'll be awhile before this breed  is able to step away from it's "Bully-Breed" reputation.
