As much as I love reading, teaching and advising on Dog training, behavior and nutrition one thing that I have a personal interest in is how people choose their pup´s names.
for instance when I brought my pup she used to bounce like Tigger from Whinnie the Pooh and so the kids decided she should be called Tigger, I wasn´t overly keen on the idea at first, but eventually it gre on me and the name stuck, then to add to the humour my dog walking pal was a fan of Only Fools and Horses and named his alsation Trigger.
You can imagine the looks and the smiles when we were in the fields calling Tigger and Trigger!
What makes you name your dog, and how do you go about finding the name?
I look forward to your responses!

we picked * Tenacious D* for our Schnauzer, because he is sooo Tenacious .
D= for Dexter, the boys got it from * Dexter Laboratory*
Damon was easy, he needed a strong name.
So Husband and I came up with that name, plus we like the Actor * Matt Damon *
Our Dogs are not spoiled,we're just well trained

A dog dosent care if your rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull.Give him your heart and he will give you his.It was really quite simple, and yet we humans,so much wiser and more sophisticated, have always had trouble figuring out what really counts and what does not.~John Grogan

Well, Cinnamon's "twin" sister is named Ginger, so we thought we'd stick with the theme, and called her Cinnamon (plus, her coloring was the color of a cinnamon stick; her coloring's faded now to where it looks more like cinnamon sugar )

It's a long story lol...but...Buck is short for something else. The band my husband was in at the time we got Buck is responsible for his name. They were doing a show and a family there gave my husband a puppy. So the band was all pumped on adrenaline on the way home from the show late at night and they got talking about the Jeopardy skit on Saturday Night Live. They were talking about the Sean Connery character and how he always screws up words and they were laughing about a word that character uses....BUCKFUTTER....yeah...that's his name. I was too excited to have a puppy that I didn't argue. So for obvious reasons....we call him BUCK.
