There are scores of dog mysteries in this world that I find myself obsessing over. For instance, are some dogs embarrassed when you put a sweater on them? Would they rather wear something snappier, like, say, a leisure suit? The biggest question of all, though? Can a dog be in love? Lately, Hap’s been dragging me around the corner – daily – to see his girlfriend, Callie.

The two dogs stand on hind legs and swat each other like welterweights. But Hap and his Lab gal, also kiss – tenderly. Happy puts his arm around Callie. Sometimes, they lie on the lawn and snuggle like an old married couple. Have any of you witnessed such PDAs with your dogs? Am I a hopeless romantic? Or just hopeless? Share, please!

Oliver has a "girlfriend"...who's two years younger! haha She lives beside us, and Oliver always runs up her driveway to see her and they chase each other and could play for hours! I can't wait to see the other replies!

The only boy in my life is my dog. ♥

I know that dogs can bond with each other, but I doubt they feel any romantic love.

Poppy (he's a boy by the way ) seems to have a crush on the big Newfoundland girl down the street. But I'll never know if it's romance or not. I've observed other animals, like birds to name one, they seem to actually be inlove. But who knows! lol! It could just be my imaginiation.

I don't believe in it. Then again I don't believe in true love at all. I think that its all in our heads about dogs loving one another. I mean they greet us by sniffing our butts...and who is to say they dont act that way with other dogs for another reason? I mean we dont go around sniffing human butts to say "ello!" or whatever. lol. Just my opinion...I don't believe in it...and the whole wife, girlfriend, fiance, datin thing...scares me O.o People really uhm...over do things. No offence.

i dont think they actually love each other or feel anything like that, i think they just
are being freindly and see someone to play with, but i do believe in dogs being friends...
theres some great movies about dogs being like family. they are really sad though=( i also agree with stary that people over do it sometimes with the whole girlfriend boyfriend married stuff! oh well, nice topic though... never really thought bout it.=)
