Has anyone gone out hunting with their dogs yet? If you have did you guys catch anything?

My brother caught a 6 point buck and my dad caught a 5 point. I got to go out on the first day of hunting. Didn't catch anything. Signed up Sandy for some hunting lessons and entered a hunting competition. We made it to the final round...but then during the final test, lost control of Sandy and she ran for the duck when it wasn't her turn. I was disqualified from the competition.

Almost got a 6 point by accident... right after moving to MD. Walked out into the back yard with Harley and 2 bucks were syanding in the yard, didn't know they were there till Harley launched at them. He responded to my delayed (I was taken a wee bit off guard, LOL) recall with a big ball of deer butt fuzz in his mouth, LOL.

I bow hunt, but don't... normally... use my dogs, LOL.

My dad took me bow hunting early this month. I prefer having my dog with me while hunting. When I have her under control, she is a big help. She tracks the deer, where one might be. Great sporting dog. We do have some issues with her that we are working on. She is still young and in training yet. She tends to get to eager and jumps out in front of the bullet. I am afraid that I will end up shooting her by accident. So we are really working on that.

How could you love such a horribble sport?

A dog dosent care if your rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull.Give him your heart and he will give you his.It was really quite simple, and yet we humans,so much wiser and more sophisticated, have always had trouble figuring out what really counts and what does not.~John Grogan
