I do the same thing with Brinkley. She is pretty funny though. It seems you tell her and show her something once and she picks it up so quickly. Some days she just boggles my mind.
As for Bella's owner??? I agree, she was sticking up for what she believed in. I will say I see many outfits for dogs in Petsmart and Petco and other dog stores. There are all kinds and people do certainly dress their dogs up. I think if they did not want any outfits on the dog, they should have stated that ahead of time. I am not a fan of Bella's owner at all but I agree with you one hundred percent.

I was wondering the same thing. She apparently wants to be a dog trainer and if that is the case, she does have a lot of work and training to do herself. Her techniques leave a lot to be desired.
I love Presley and Starr. They are my two favorites at this point. I am so glad they won last night. It made my night that they won.
I think the judges have their hands full with some of these people. Not so much the dogs as the people. I dont know if that is the kind of thing they are looking for to make the show interesting but I would not want to be around some of them for any period of time.
Brinkley is a therapy dog and we go to the Veterans Hospital. She hears all kinds of noises and sees all kinds of things and thank God she is a gentle soul who just goes about and does her thing. Its funny. I had her do all the things last night they did at the table toward the end. It was a piece of cake. Now Barney, our black lab/pointer mix who was a rescue as he was used as dog bait in dog fighting??? He was another story. LOL!!! He wanted no part of any of it. He is a slow work in progress. Its to be expected. He has had much trauma in his few short years being used as a bait dog but he does love Brinkley. Thank God.

All the dogs were soooooo good with the "leave it" command and not eating their favorite foods.
Were they able to eat the food after the competition?

| After Beth Joy's outburst, I saw Wendy lean over and talk to you. Did she want to change which team would be eliminated?

I was actually wondering that myself. Great question.

| Why was Elvis in the bottom three? He did so well on the challenge -- especially for a Jack Russell. Was using different hands for "stay" enough of a mistake to warrant being in the bottom three?

| Also, did all the dogs receive identical food on their plates during the "leave it" test? It looked like some had different food. Or was it maybe something that included their favorite food?

Trixie 604 (7/18/2008) Do you know how Kenji is doing now? I hope Elan has taken some serious training courses!I hope so too. Any dominant or guardian breed (Anatolian Shepherd, Tibetan Mastiff, Kuvasz) would have interpreted a stranger standing behind its owner and then reaching out his arm (as the waiter did) as a threatening posture and reacted in a similar manner. However, Kenji had other uncontrollable moments, and by repeating her commands over and over, Kenji zoned out. Much more effective to give a command once, and mean it. I encouraged Elan to have strangers (to the dog) accompany them on walks, offer her treats and teach her there is no need to feel protective if her owner tells her all is well. Otherwise, this could be a lawsuit waiting to happen.
