How can I stop my puppy from eating poop? And if anyone knows why, why do dogs eat poop?

I know your new so im just going to give it to you strait. Before you post something make sure you check to see if its been posted before so you dont get offended if nobody replys, especially with the questions  Im saying this because most of the time its been posted before and it has some really educated answers. As for the poop problem I posted this exact problem a while back in the dogs section and I got some good advice so check it out ok? Not trying to be mean or anything just letting you know

Be part of the solution adopt from a local shelter or rescue organization!

angel isnt new she just hasnt been on for a while

anyways monet had a real big problem with poop eating you can buy stuff from the vets called forbid it works pretty good I have also heard adding a spoonfull of plain or vanilla yogurt will stop that bad habit but I never tried it so I dont know if it works other than that keep the yard cleaned up so she cant find any poo as for why they eat it some say its lack of nutrients from a low quaility diet others say its just boredom I dont know its just gross!!

Sorry. I didn't know this had been posted. I usually don't get to stay on long because I'm busy during school months, so I don't get to look at many posts. I haven't been in the Dogs section for a long time and haven't seen what's there. I try to check out as many posts as I can, but sometimes I can't. But even so, thanks for telling me about this.

Also, thanks everyone for the tips. I really appreciate it.

if star starts to smell it I pull him away and say No, bad dog. He stopped trying to smell it after a while.

Star: *Proud Eskie/golden mix*
Pushing me away, every last word, every single thing you say
pushing me away, try to stop it now but it's already too late
pushing me away, If you really don't care then say it to my face
pushing me away, push push pushing me away
tell me the truth, cause I'm so confused ,spinning around these walls are fallin down
and I need you, more than you know, im not letting go, im getting closer
take my hand and tell me why, pushing me away every last word.
push push pushing me away.
