for the pug I would use green beans or carrots, or you can use part of his meal for a treat.

if your dogs wont take any treats or toys their is not much you can do about that. I would stay away from training classes that dont make accomidations for your dogs! no dog is the same what motivates 1 might not work on another. a good trainer would not force a dog outside its comfort zone.

Whenever someone would come over to our house to visit our dog would bark and bark and bark. It was very annoying and distracting when we were trying to talk with our guests. I watched Its me or the dog on Animal Planet and I saw that she used compressed air to get the dog away from the front door. The next time visitors came over we used a spray bottle when he barked and when he was good we reinforced that the visitors were ok by having them give him small training treats. It worked out good and he is currently still in the progress of learning, but he is getting much better. Spray bottles filled with water or compressed air is a good solution to break a dog of its habit but not harm it. However, they should NEVER be used to frighten or "punish" a dog.

This is right, the only way to house train is reinforcment... I just got a lab puppy from the shelter, 10 months old, she hasn't had one mistake in the house.... because I won't let her.
I feed her the same time everyday and was taking her out every 45 min. now she can wait about an hour and a half but I make sure I don't forget because if I do then I know it is my fault. i know it gets old and we all have other stuff to do but if you don't keep reminding them they will forget. good luck

If you have a tuff time with a barking dog try this! ( No garintee it will work.) If your walking your dog and he starts to bark take him to the side and tell him to sit or give him something else to do. If that doesn't work still take him to the side and get between him and the person or dog or thing he is barking at and strictly tell him NO!!!

My dog does well at shows!! He won his first trophy today i was so proud!! I could't belive my ears when i heard i was going to state!

My toy poodle yaps at everyone
