I'm geting a puppy next month he is a Rat Terrie Chiahuahua mix his name is Rascal.I'm getting him for free from a friend they didn't want the female to have any more puppys but a friend moved in whith a male rat terrie and she got preanent she had 4 puppies 3 look like the father and one looks like the mother. I'm geting one that looks like the father.

I have this wonderful dog I found last year and we know he is moslty corgi and I am thinking some sort of bull dog due to the texture of his coat. But I am most curious as to his age. Our vet thought maybe 3 because he didn't have much tarter on his teeth. Since I found him I have went to great lengths to clean him up and get him health. I give him tarter chew bones and things about once a week so I think that has cleaned his teeth alot!

His beard and eyebrows have greyed alot since I found him. The shape he was in when I found him I think he had been traveling a long long time.

If you have any suggestions or can help me figure out his age it would mean alot to us, so we can care for him even better. He has seemed to developed arthritis in his back and struggles with it alot on some days.

Here is the skinny....
The DNA testing can isolate and identify over 334 AKC dog breeds within your mutts blood. It really is amazing, and very useful actually.
For example, my little westie had a terrible skin rash the doctor treated with a shot every couple of weeks, but it had already spread to my two other dogs both all American mutts (aka..mixed breed) and because their breeding and background was unknown they could not give the shot to them because the shot could have a bad reaction to some other dog breeds such as border collies, collies, sheep dogs and on.
So the only treatment they could get was a bath with medication that was not a sure cure for the condition. Now the shot worked wonders for my westie, but the problem still rears its ugly head every now and then on my other two.
Just thought you all might like to check it out, my dog is going in for testing on Friday so we can be certain that she can or can not have the shots.

Something else that is actually kind of a fun game to play when your bored, look at their photo gallery and try to guess what breeds are in each dog before you click on them, you would be amazed at the heritage of some of the breeding that made these mixes.

I can't wait til my dog gets hers done, we will post the results on her page when we get the test result back so check Wizzer D. Couch's page in about three weeks or so to see where she came from.[/font]

i wonder why most people dont like mix breeds.they are calmer than pure breedsand they have better manner around kids and adult.i have alot of friends who have mix breed and they tell me great things about mix breeds like their health is better than pure breed cause they dont get the major health issue like hip problems and other health issues

i emailed the American hybrid club and they said since they are new to the club that they didn't have any information on them...so i am stuck...any suggestions...books, magazines, websites or anything

I was in math class today and we were in breakout groups and I was stuck with this really annoying girl named Alana but I really wanted to be in with Jonathan. Anyway, she says 100 mean things and calls everyone "stupid" and everytime Im stuck with her expect when she is not in class..Well she set me off today, I blew up at her. We were talking about dogs and she wanted to be a "breeder of basset hounds" and I said cool. I told her that I loved dogs too! Well she asked what breed mine was and when I said mixed she said..."Ewww mutts are the most stupidist ugliest things God ever created" Then I said hey that is rude, I love my dog..Then she said they have no purpose on this earth like purebreds do. I flew off the handle saying, I love my dog and most of my friends own mutts and get upset when somebody disses one of my friends and I don't mind you dissing me but you dissed mutts thats dissing my friends and then I went on to saying how all animals have a purpose and nobody cares if it is running in a field keeping sheep in line or what, dogs are there to comfert us and my dog is mine to help me get through the bumps in the road of life. I said that my dog is probily alot prettier then her wringly old purebred. I said more but I don't wanna offend anyone. I just go so upset that somebody could diss mixed breeds but yet be so offended when somebody disses pittbulls. Its the same exact thing. I have linked Alana the DC site and I hope she does read this because below I wrote a little thing of why I liked mixed breeds, in hopes that It can get through her thick head. After that whole escapade..I am going to email the teacher asking her to keep me in groups with Jonathan instead of Alana. Her and I can't get along shes just so nasty and complans all the time and I cant keep my mouth shut anymore, I kept it shut all year. sorry I needed to air a little bit and share my poem.

Why I liked mixed breeds (poem):

Standing there so cute , smiling up at you

They are one of kind that no other one looks alike

2 breeds in one, how cool is that?!?

People look down apon them but I can't see why,

You can say you are truley a dog lover, but indeed you are not

until you can say you love a mixed breed!

Now don't judge me and I won't judge you

You never know, I just might win, best in show

So go ahead say your mean things because

Someday, 2 breeds will be better then one!

My dog in a Shelter?!?

I rescued a Border Collie Mix from a local shelter about 2 years ago. We named him Buddy and had him for almost a year, he was a very hyper dog with severe seperation anxiety. When he would be left alone for a short time he would go NUTS! We would crate him and when we would come back, his mouth and feet would be bleeding! He got so bad that he broke through 4 crates and kennels, when he would get free he would distroy(matress, shoes, EVERYTHING) So I began looking for a home for him, any way... We gave him to a couple that was warned of his behavior, about a month later they called and said they cant keep him, because we had so much troble finding him a home we told them we could'nt take him back. He has gone from home to home and is now at a local shelter. His name is now changed to Radley, I know its him though because of his cross on his chest and his collar! ( )

I feel sick to my stomach seeing his face on the internet, it also says he had been there for about a month. Well the problem is it says he got adopted and I just have a gut feeling he will be returned to the shelter because of his seperation anxiety! If he is returned Im afraid I will go adopt him and go through all the troble again!!! I know this is rediculous but it is eating me up! I dont know if I made the right choice, or if I made a big mistake! Buddy NEEDS to have a lot of room to run and some one that is home a lot more than I am! But it kills me to see that he cant find a good home! He is a great dog, VERY smart! Any advice would be GREAT!!!
We gave him chew toys, calming shampoo, put hot sause on the walls of the crate, ect. This breaks my heart, I really do love this dog! If any one has tips on how to handle a dog like this would be appreciated too! Thanks again!

hey everyone,
it's me again.i have a full adult Cockinese name brownie. when we got her in the pound they said she was a Pekingese mixed but everyone says she has american Cocker Spaniel in her. but when i look up cockinese in dog breed info center they look like her but she has a pekingese style tail the tails in the web site had american cocker spaniel style tails. i was wounding if anyone had any pics of cockinese and if i could see a pic of them.i'll try to post some of brownie so you can help me out.

SO my sister got me a 6 month old pomeranian for christmas. She says he is a AKC dog and SHe will be mailing me his papers, the only thing is this dog does not look anything like a pomeranian. Also he is 13 punds and only 6 month old? My parents want to get rid of the dog and get a real pomeranian but I do not. Has anyone ever heard of a 13 pound pomeranian puppy?

He is a what they call a lavender color, to me he looks like a oppusum.

This is Jake. He is 1 1/2 years old. We know he has Golden Retriever in him but we dont know what else. We love him no matter what, we are just curious about his breed. He is a big boy!! He weighs 135 pounds right now, so I was maybe thinking Great Dane. He has long legs and fairly big ears. GIve us your ideas.

This is Sadie. We were told she is a Lab-Huskey-mastiff-beagle. Quite the combo but a great puppy. Very smart and easy to train. Her tail curves over her back to the point of touching it. Loves to run and play keep-a-way. Don't most puppies do that? I am curious if anyone has any suggestions of the breeds. She was 12 weeks on June 17. Thanks for your help.

I took a dog from old family friends about two years ago, they had rescued her from a shelter in ohio five years prior. They could no longer keep her and I fell in love. Nora is about 10 now and is a cocker-spaniel dachshund mix. We call her a 'cock-a-dach'

Alright. Heres the deal. My Pitbull carnation bit someone. But they were intruding in my apartment when I wasnt even home! And now theyre trying to say that they werent intruding and now theyre trying to ban my dog and put my baby to sleep! I dont care if u dont like pitbulls. u shouldnt be reading this. I have a had pitbulls all my life and not ONE has attack anybody for no reason. I have another pitbull, her brother and then I have a rott pitt chow mix. Please help w/ suggestions!
