I am getting sit means sit for Zacks aggression. What do you think about it? Have you used them?

OH and one more thing for those of you who think it is cruel. I felt the collar zapping my hand. It was very gentle. It was at the highest setting and It wasn't even that bad. Also most dogs on the videos seem so happy and willing to work! This is my first time here. My dog is lab, he was a stray that was brought to me.

The vet said he appeared to be around 1.5 yrs. He is a good dog, but he likes to roam.

I am currently fencing in the entire yard, which is about an acre with a creek running through it. I love to go hiking, but am afraid that he will run off. Should I use a hunting dog training collar? I don't leash my dogs when I hike, as I go in places where there are few people.

I also have a small mixed dog that was raised with a golden retriever. We used to hike just fine because that dog was an excellent listener.

what do you think of declawing

are you for it or against it

Ear problems

Our dog that we recently inherited from a family friend had ear mites pretty bad. So I bought some stuff from wall mart that is suposed to help with them. It said to leave it in for a few hours then clean out the excess. I did that and even used rubbing alchohal to try to dry up any excess that was left after I used something to dry out his ears. I did that two days in a row when the instructions said to use it everyday for a week.

Now a week later it looks like he has an ear infection poor guy. He cries and rubs his ears and they are hot to the touch. We are taking him to the vet in a couple hours. I feel so bad because I feel like its my fault. She is eating, but not eating as much. She is drinking just fine. She is going to the bathroom just fine. But this past week her back legs seem to be giving out on her. She goes right down and it takes her awhile to get back up.

Now this morning when my mom went to let her out she went but she peed and then her legs gave out and she just laid there. It took her a good 5 minutes or so to get up.

We don't know if this is something that we should put her down for or not. It is just killing us to think about it. She doesn't seem to be in any pain or anything.

Any advice would be appreciated.

what shampoo do think is good

for dogs.can you use human shampoo on them.i am trying to find the right shampoo for them

I need help for my beagles!!!

I have 2 dogs and they are beagles and one of them is deaf and the other is CRAZY, we are trying to teach them tricks but the crazy one only knows sit, stay, and come and the deaf one can't do anything...so I need some help not only with that but my dog crazy dog wont keep off the couch. He was checked for worms but didn't have any but was wormed just incase. He eats everything he can find, so we have been very dilagent about making sure he can't eat anything but dog food. I feed him Royal Canin large breed puppy food. He is overly food driven. He is constantly hungry so we were advised to raise his food amount by 2 split into 4 feeding times, this has not helped he constantly scrounges for food. He is given a kong with kong treats to keep him busy. His food has only been changed once and it was done slowly. I don't know what to do. This problem makes me feel like he might have collitis or something. The Vet said just keep watching to make sure he doesn't eat anything but dog food and he should be fine. It is bad enough to have to clean the mess up cuz he can't hold it long enough to make it outside but I can imagine how he feels poor thing. The thing is its the perfect size and all its just that Molly won't get in and stay in. The only way I can get her to go in is by throwing little rocks in there and she jumps in with curiosity. Then she dips her head under the water picks up the little rock and brings it out of the pool and lays down in the dirt! She repeatedly does that until all the little rocks are out then she doesn't go back in the pool at all. I just want her to go in the pool freely and lay down in it or play but she won't! And now she only uses the pool to drink out of! Any tips on getting her to go in?

bitting tires??

My mom's dog is 3 yrs. old. So, I'll go first.

Today I went outside to play in the snow, it was SO MUCH FUN! Kendra, my owner, took me out and we went sledding on the hill by our garage. I spent most of my time digging in the snow. It's the only place I can dig and Kendra won't get mad. When I finished digging, Kendra threw snowballs for me. The only problem was I couldn't find the ball after it hit the ground. I think they disappear. When we got inside from the playtime, I was freezing because I had little snowballs stuck to my legs! I didn't stay cold for long, Kendra wrapped me up in her soccer ball fleese blanket and then gave me my favourite kind of treat. Peanut butter and banana. Yum! I had a great day, excpet for the fact that I chewed up my fuzz ball and took the squeaker out. We aren't sure how exactly it happened because she isn't a chewer, she has always played with the softer toys and latex type toys and she hasn't been acting as if it bothers her. The vet gave us two options to either get it removed or get a root canal done and I'm not sure what to do. They can't do the root canal at their office and the place that they recommend is almost two hours away and we would have to go at least two times, maybe more. So I'm kind of leaning more towards getting it extracted just because car rides really take a lot out of her these days and between that and the fact she would have to be sedated for the procedure I think it would stress her out too much. So what would you do if it were your dog? Everyone I have talked to thinks I'm crazy for even considering getting the root canal done on a dog, hell maybe I am. Has anyone here gone through something like this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
