While I don't think I'll ever compete with Charlie (we'll stick to agility, perhaps some canine freestyle later on down the track) it is a very enjoyable sport- so much more so than traditional obedience. We've just graduated from rally one and am starting rally two this coming Wednesday night. Everyone should give it a go!

RE: GREAT new sport!

[quote]Sudden_Impact (7/1/2009)
Hi everyone,
As some of you might remember, I ws training my Lab, Leah, in Tracking. I have a lot of respect for search and rescue dogs. If your dog passed the CGC test than she should be great at rally!

RE: GREAT new sport!

this seems like it would be fun to do. my german shephard, Adonis is going to do serch and rescue as a job. right now he is the "second in command" at our boarding facility called K-9 Funcamp.
i think Adonis would be good at this since he has al ready completed his "k-9 good citizen" test.

thanks for telling, it will be something i will definately look into

RE: GREAT new sport!

Agh! Is that the rules here?

Maybe try dogrally [dot] org.

I didn't know what rally was, but that site says it's a course with 10-20 stations where you have to stop and have your dog do a "skill" or "exercise" to the judge's satisfaction before moving on to the next one.

Sounds interesting. I'll look for a video of this.

RE: GREAT new sport!

Oh sorry.
Here's a link:

Leah is learning faster than ever before, and seems to really have fun with it.
