Spirit and I have now been living on the road for about 15 months. Winter is rough so we have come down south... somehow still cold!!! We mainly ride a motorcycle with a sidecar for him as he will wear his Doggles and helmet with no problem... he likes to pose for the cameras!

We have a Blog which I cannot post here because of its lenght and too many pictures! I could start inserting an intro for it whenever we post, genrally every other day or so...

We are seeing the country, the Parks, meeting people in small towns, cooking on the road as I have been a Chef for 40 years now and lots of Photgraphy... Just in case it does not appear in our signature, this is the Blog, and it is G rated...

I just found this forum and am very happy to have done so! (I don't know why I didn't think to come here first!)

A little about me I live with a Jack Russell and two Parson Russells-one of which is mine and she is my best girl. Her name is Eleanor Rigby and she is a three year old Tri-color smooth. I claim the other two as well. But if I ever talk about them it will most likely be her. (By the way she is starting Rally!)

I joined this forum to hopefully learn more and further my knowledge of dogs and dog sports and maybe help some one else too. That...and also to just be able to talk about dogs in general.

Hello my name is Vincent Wood and I am the proud new father of Sassy Lady Wood! Sassy is an American Pit Bull Terrier and is so beautiful. I am not new to Pit Bull's, but this is my first female Pit. I have always loved males due to the larger size, power, and muscle mass but Sassy was so pretty that I fell in love with her as soon as she was given to me from my daughter.

As I said I am not new to Pit's but it's almost like starting all over from scratch because I have not owned one since around 1995 and never owning a female. So I will be doing allot of research again and asking plenty of questions.

Glad to be here and I am so excited about my newest daughter Sassy Lady Wood!

Newbie Needs Your Help. (I'm clueless)

I feel a bit like this smiley. I adopted a stray 2 weeks ago that was dumped on my driveway. For me it was a mixed blessing, I just adopted a cat 2 weeks prior and our family was adjusting to Bart. I have several Parrots, another cat and dog and newbies take time to adjust so, routines are out of the norm. Phred, is our new adopted dog. She came with several blessing; First Phred is a mutt-i-gree (lol-I like that) and her face looks just like our English Pointer that died a couple of years ago, her body is long with short legs--kinda matches our other dog Lil Bit'. My big concern is Phred is going to have puppies. I've had children but no puppies. I need some insight as to what happens, what do I need (blankets ect) I did take her right away to the vet for shots and worming. She goes for her second worming Wednesday. All the doc told me is everything happens in 1 hour phases and if she is bearing down longer than an hour call. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Hello everybody! I'm Scoot's Mom (otherwise known as my Scooter/and or Scooter Pooter). I've had Scooter now for about 3 weeks. He's a 2 year old longhaired datchsie and I already love him to death! I suffer from depression and a dear friend of mine and her husband surprised me after a very bad episode with my dear adopted Scooter. He has really lifted my spirits. His previous owners had to give him up because they were expecting a baby and didn't think he would be compatible with an infant. His mommy works long hours and lives alone; I'm still trying to get over the guilt of having to crate him and the separation anxiety he suffers from while I'm gone. We're on here to meet new friends, learn more about taking care of a dachsie and how to break bad behaviors. Most of all to meet new friends.

I am starting my own grooming business at my home and will take any advice I can get. I am also researching getting involved in breeding. I have a Havanese and she was suppose to have papers in a co-owner situation. So far no papers and I chalk this up to a learning experience. Hi everyone, I just joined. My name is Joey, I'm from Canada and I have a 7 year old Rottweiler. He is a pretty big guy, 120 lbs but would not hurt a fly. I'm not just a dog lover I love all animals but dogs are one of my favourites. Next year, I will be a university student majoring in Biology and I hope to attend veterinary school after that.

NOT NEW, BUT BACK!

Last January, towards the end, Bubba had a horrible injury to his right hind leg. If you recall, he had successfully completed advanced OB, and was well into his "bite work" training for Schutzhund.

We were fine-tuning him for his 1st Police Canine Association certification when the injury occurred. It was a freak accident, very unfortunate.

I have been rehabbing him since the injury. The hind leg was broken badly at the femur, very high up, resulting in the hip joint being involved.

Currently, he's getting around normally again, is off Rimadyl completely, thank God, and is taking an herbal formula, as well as massive doses of fish oil, Gluc/MSM/Chondroitin. He's doing very well. We may go back into training in the spring if the vet clears him. If not, that's okay! He's been great through all this...refused to give up! I have the Seabiscuit of dogs!!

Hi everyone! My name is Elizabeth and I just joined the website.

I own a 4-year-old white German Shepherd named Lexi.

I acquired Lexi at the end of May from a lady an hour away from me who was in the process of foreclosing her home and could no longer keep her dog, as she wasn't 100% sure where she'd end up next.

My maternal grandmother's favorite breed was German Shepherds so I've pretty much grown up with them my whole life.

Lexi is the 6th GSD and will definitely not be the last. (Shepherds are my FAVORITE breed!)

Im Savannah and I am 15. I have two younger twin sisters that are 13, and we have two small family dogs, Dude and Goofy. Dude is a pekignese/poodle and Goofy is a maltese/bichon frise. Dude is around 6 and Goofy is 5. My sisters and I are home-schooled so during the day we hang out with our little bros(Dude and Goofy),and we dont get much of a social life. That is why I like to go on forums...I'd like to get to know some of you guys and maybe make some dog loving friends.

Oh yea...I love German Shepherds and hope when I get older I can get one of my own. Also I am a Victoria Stilwell fan and only believe in positive reinforcement training.

im a geologist in nevada; i have a lab/dane mix named river and, my fiance has a mutt named chunk- both neutered. We love nothing more than camping/hiking/snowshoeing and being lazy.

im a huge nerd for dogs. I go to petfinder.com constantly to window shop. I am not in the market! i really like this forum. i love how the experienced breeders lay into irresponsible people who want to breed their dogs, know puppies are cute and nothing else about the process. I am a pound puppy girl but respect purebreeds for sure.

Hello. We are the Fowler Family. I'm the mom, Meg Fowler. I have 6 fantastic children and presently I have one really spoiled and terribly cute short haired Doxie named Bosco and I also own a beautiful and coy long haired Doxie named Strawberry. We are a homeschooling family and our pets are part of lives all day, everyday!

We live in Northeast Texas on three acres. We have a rogue rooster and a cat and will be getting another horse within the next year. (we did own 5 horses but we are at zero presently). We have plans in the works to create two very nice kennels outside but we prefer to have our dogs in the house with us, most of the day.

We are breeding our doxies for personality. We found this wonderful female with the assistance of our very bright dog savvy friend Christina. (also a member of this forum) Both of our dogs have unique and wonderful personalities in addition to good solid confirmation. We are praying for good healthy puppies that should be here by the first week of August 2009.

Our family is also a theater family. I grew up in NY, acting, singing and dancing my way through college. My children have the same bug. We just finished a production of Annie and are starting work on [i]Fiddler on the Roof.

In 1987 my Staffordshire Terrier, Fowler's White Rock Max, was on the TV show People Magazine. He was also a "star" in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar, he played Pilots Dog. He also did a movie with Donald Suthurland, called EL Mariachi. And Max was the poster dog for Zodiac Products. Max died in 1990 and he was the best dog we've ever owed.

Come and visit our Doxies on our new website dashingdoxies.weebly.com. We are in the process of constructing this site. Our puppies should be a mix of long and short haired black/tan and reds. They will have tremendous personalities that will range from hilariously funny to coy and demure, a personality to fit any person. They will also be very "family friendly" little pups.

Hello, everyone! I am 47 years old and have a 5 year Gordonsetter naed Princess. She is my service dog. I have alot of panic attacks whenever I leave my apartment so she is here to let me know that I am alright, she comforts me, and takes me out of the situation. She is also trained to help me with the stairs, get my medicine when I need her to, and bring the phone to me. I love her dearly and don't know how I'd make it through the day wthout her.
