Ah, I see Brittney Spears in yahoo news for her new "Charity." What did I tell you? It is all a fake gimmick to get fans and supporters. I mean, yeah on the plus side they are helping people/animals even though that is not "their" main perspective. It’s not really the main idea whether or not she is "doing any good" to the animals. For me it’s how sad and the big shame of how many of you look up to her as an "idol" and will stick up for her. She lost her self respect back when she chose to be "gay." When I look at people, it’s about who they are and if they have any moral and morals. I don't judge people on their "skin tone" nor how they dress. It's just a simple fact of life that it’s very sinful and part of satin and mindless to be "that way" and supporters of it, aren't any better. So, all I have to say is that, those of you for her make me sick and I pity you on your judgment day. I am done discussing this before anything starts. I just had to put in another "2 cents."

You don't choose to be gay, you're either heterosexual, bisexual, or homosexual. There's a lot of biological factors going into that, including genetics and the enviroment in a mothers womb that contribute to the parts of the brain that have to do with attraction.

The way I look at it is that I didn't choose to be heterosexual, I just am. I had no interest in boys, and then bang, one day when I was 12 or so I started nothing them. No one told me to, I just did.

I'm very proud that Ellen had the ability to come out in the public scene. Its very hard for homosexual individuals to come out of the closet and she certainally helps with this regard. Those who feel they can't come out and will get seriously depressed. I have seen many people turn to self-harming activites and attempted suicide because of this.

A few of my best friends are gay and they are all wonderful, giving people. No one can convince me that a romantic relationship between two caring, consensual adults is wrong. What happens in the bedrooms of other people as far as I'm concerned is none of my business, nor should it be the business of other people, the church, or the government.

If god truly wants to send these people to hell for these relationships, then I have no respect for him. How can an apparently "all-loving" entity condem people for a simple lifestyle choice that brings them happiness and causes no harm to other individuals. The church only condems it because it is a minority group they can beat on. Keep in mind that the bible was translated from latin and a lot can be lost in the translation of languages, a friend of mine is a pastor and has studied foreign languages and there is a variety of things that the "homosexuality" passage could refur to, including pedophilia (Roman soldiers were encouraged to have sexual relationships with their young male trainees). In addition, also keep in mind its only a few lines above saying it is sin to mix differnt fabric fibre types. Oh no! Mixing cotton with linen, apparently I'm a giant sinner.

If Christians want to take one lesson out of the bible, it should be the actions of Christ himself. He did not condem people and made his friends with the very worst of society. Beggers, theives, prostatutes. My favorite line of the bible has to be "Let those who are without sin cast the first stone". We are all human and have our faults, so unless one is hurting others, lets not attack them (I'm all for locking up those who murder... but otherwise, I'm a forgive and forget type).

The local shelter where I live brings lots of dogs up from Puerto Rico. In fact, I think pretty much all their dogs are brought up. Personally, I don't care if a celebrity helps out a charity for the publicity, at least they are helping. Sometimes I wish I could do more, but every little bit helps. It breaks my heart all the dogs out there in need. If we all do a little it goes a long way, and hopefully those who can, like celebrities, do a lot.

My goal is to start a doggie daycare facility in a couple years, and use the facility to help dogs in need - whether its taking in needy dogs one or two at a time and helping them until they are ready to be adopted or however it ends up working out.

I have to agree, at least they are helping. Celebreties in many cases are the only ones who have the ability to help with huge monitary donations to make a lot of these things possible.

Ellen has to be one of my favorite celebrities, I love her cheery attitude and she does seem to regularily raising money for good causes. While each celebrity may have their own "pet causes" there are many who go above and beyond the usual call and I think we should at least recognize that.

I agree because they have the money to do so but sadly not all have the heart to. I myself will donate at times but i can't aford to donate on a regular basis

Well I don't know much about her, but I'm glad to see she's helping out dogs and people. If more people w/ lots of money did that this world would be alot better place!

Celebrities basically will do anything to grab attention. Good cause or not. When they feel they are losing viewers or fans then they will pull something out to make themselves look good. Happens many times it makes you wonder if they do it out of heart or to benefit themselves.

Personally, I hate how she is gay. I mean dude, you really don't need to go tell the whole world you are a homo. That is just gross and sinful. I don't really care how "racy" that sounds. As far as I am concerned it is not "racy." Being racy is when you dislike somebody for their skin tone, hair style, being disabled, mental ect. That is not a sin. God gave you that skin color and if you’re physically impaired. Now being "gay" is a sin and you have the choice to be like that. She really creeps me out and she has no moral values or self respect at all. She is old enough to know right from wrong and she has no excuse.

That is all I have to say and you can all argue about this but that is my opinion and you cannot retract an opinion and there is no "right" or "wrong" answer in an opinion. I do not look up to "famous" people and I think they are over rated and over payed. Most of them are worthless and drug addicts and have no self respect. We need to start looking up to the real heroes like those who are over in Iraq fighting for all you Americans to live here and for our freedom of speech. They are more important then stupid celebrities who were in a stupid television show or movie.

Please, stick to the topic. This is about someone who does something for people and animals in need. She's not doing it for the spotlight. She donates to so many charities, and gives lots to people in need. I do look up to her, no matter what type of person she is. By the way, I don't think she's "telling the world" that she is gay. She is just happy, and getting married soon. I hear more about...Lindsay Lohan, and Elton John than her.

Sorry. Just had to get that out. Back to our original topic. Puh-lease!

I do Agree with you, people do need to look up to the real heros and i do they should be paid way more then any celebs and even people who play sports they get paid so much i don't see them saving lives. I do not look up to any celebs but i do like ellen. Ellen has always helped animals in need and people as well im sure long before her show. Though everyone has their own opions we really can't say anything until we have met and i don't just mean meeting her once actually getting to know her.

I have to admit that I am sick of hearing all over the news about no good stars like "brittney spears" or "Lindsay Lohan" who have no meaning on this earth expect a waste of space when every day heros like somebody who saved a life or our soldiers who might be rememberd once a day but then forgotten the next day. It sickens me that we waste our print and time reading about messed up people like brittney. It really is a shame.

Ellen Degeneres does so much for dogs who don't have homes, or are treated badly. And, she has great guests who do all they can for dogs. Whenever she has a guest that does something for dogs, I'll post them and whatever they did here. I hope you read this, and figure out how generous Ellen Degeneres really is!

A few days ago Ellen had on her show guest, Steve McGarva. Whos is he? Steve went to a beach in Puerto Rico, and all he saw was abandond dogs. They were starving and dying there. The beach was called 'Dead dog Beach'. But keep reading! It gets happier! Steve said that it changed his life and he couldn't walk away. Him and his wife formed a group called Island Dog Inc. With that organization they have saved MANY dogs and are making a huge difference. They rescued over 500 dogs already! Go to there website islanddog.org. Donate, read their jornals...
