Ah, that is a dog thing, hating the leash!! Star is 13 and he is still like that. is she chewing it, or is she just pulling?

Is this her first time wearing one or is she use to wearing one? If she is new to wearing one, I would agree with Starry*boy and say she needs to get use to wearing one, which will take time. If she is older and use to wearing one look really good around her neck for and red rashes she might be itching at. Then look at the collar on the side that is always touching her neck and if you see brownish tan build up around there, I would suggest washing it with soap and put another collar on her until that one is clean. Basically the buildup is like what we humans get in our ears and belly buttons. Just needs cleaned.

If the collar bothers her so much maybe you should get her microchipped or a tatoo. Just let her wear the collar for short periods of time each day and when you take it off give her a treat.

Definitely takes time to get used to it.. I would try to distract Takoda with a treat or toys when she wears the collar, so she associates it with good things. I wouldn't let her scrape it off, because if she does it once she will learn she can and will try over and over. Key is to keep her focused on other things besides how annoying the collar is

Well some dogs don't like wearing it becuase it feels weird to them for the first time. Let her wear it when for a few hours each day until she gets use to it.

TAKODA HATES HER COLLAR WHEN WE PUT IT ON HER SHE STARTS TO SCRATCH AND WE CALL IT CARPET SURFING. SHE DROPS TO THE FLOOR OR GRASS AND STARTS RUNNING AND USUALLY FINDS AWAY TO GET THE COLLAR OFF.
