I think they are beautiful dogs! Would I own one? Most likely no.

I owned a Saint Bernard when I was young and absolutely adored her. She was a great dog. But my Bullmastiff will be my last BIG dog. You would have to consider the drooling and the shedding (and the size!).

I voted "Maybe" because I've always loved the St. Bernard but have never lived anywhere that a huge dog like that would be happy. If we ever move to the country, we just might get one.

I would have one as long as we had enough room in the house! We definitely have a big enough yard, but the layout of our current house would not be the most condusive to a dog that big.

They are big droolers!!

I would also babysit one if given the opportunity.

No, I'd rather own 1) A cat 2) IF a dog, then either a Siberian Huskey or Long-haired Chiuaua or maybe ven NONE! Sorry!

Well, I voted that I would dog-sit one. I have a huge house and own eighteen acres, which is big enough for a St. Bernard, but I wouldn't want to deal with all of the hair, drule, or exercise requirements (since their such big dogs and probably need a lot of exercise). But I would dog-sit one for three weeks at the most.

I voted maybe. Because if I had enough space for one I would probably adopt one. There was a pair, two sisters, who were dropped of at the amimal shelter I voulunteer at this last summer. I would have loved to take them home. They were so sweet! I would actually love to own a St. Bernard someday but don't have the room now. They are wonderful dogs! We had one when I was growing up. Her name was Rosie. She was so loving! She loved us kids and followed us anywhere. I was about fourteen when she came to live with us so my youngest sister was just a baby (yeah, I come from a large family, I'm 14 yrs older than my youngest sister) She loved that baby and always had her big head in the babies face. She was drooly, too. Left big slobbers on my baby sister and anyone else she could get her lips on! Some of my funniest memories of her is running down the driveway to catch the school bus. I was running because Rosie had such big drooly slobbers hanging off her lips that I didn't want her to "get me" (get the slobbers on my clothes) She usually got my younger sister and then my brother when he was old enough to go to school. Who ever was slowest got Rosie's "love" drools on their school cloths. Oh, she was such a great dog!! She passed about 8 years ago but I still miss her. She was such a sweatheart of a dog! I also think she was a great representation of the breed,; given temperment and loyalty to the family and to little kids, not to mention her love for tromping through the snow on a winters day. If I had the space and yard I would adopt St. Bernard in a heart beat!

yes I would, I love big dogs.
MY neighbor in Germany had one, I know about the breed, there needs, no problem.
With every breed, education is the key, you just don't buy a dog, because they look COOL.
Thats why so many COOL Dogs are in shelters.

Yes, I would. In a heartbeat. I love HUGE furry dogs. And I don't mind drool either! ( If I did I wouldn't own a Great Pyrenees.....LOL!)

Same here, I mean, they are SO cute, but they drool a lot and would just be about 10 times harder to look after than a small dog. Also, I could never pick up after one....

Sorry, no. I admit I don't have the time to properly care for a long coat. I also need to "downsize". When my old Akita got hurt, I was barely able to get him into my truck. I am a single, 5'3" woman who will be 50 on my next birthday. I love large dogs. My Great Dane is my last large dog. From here on I will get no dog over 50 pounds.

Yes, I have neighbors who would be happy to help. But if my dog gets hurt I won't be taking the time to call around, praying someone is home! Since I was a child, I dreamed of having an Akita and a Great Dane. I have fulfilled both of those wishes. Besides, 50 pounds is no little dog!!!

i had to say no. it just isn't my type of dog. i prefer short haired dogs, large short haired dogs.

I had to put two answers down! I wouldnt buy them because they are big, but they are cute! Also, I'm only 11, the St.Bernard would walk me! If my friend got one and wanted me to dog sit it, I would, but I couldnt handle having one myself.
