We had a number of dogs while I was growing up. All were special and I miss very one of them!

I have had a ton of dog breeds in my life but there were a few that really got you thinking about how special they were. I had; when I was really young; a mutt named Gabbie. She was on the shelter row of the pet store; she was getting older and no one wanted her. My mom saved her and she was the best dog; even if I can't remember a lot about her. And one of my other favorites were my GSD Rock (not like a stone; rock like music) and a stray named Tramp. They were really great dogs.

Yes, I've had three. The first two were Molly and Pixie (both Westie's). We had to put Pixie down because she was so old and just couldn't cope or live a normal life anymore. Molly just died without warning. I cried so much over the loss of both of them. Next was Ivy who my grandparents gave to my family. She was also a Westie. When we took Ivy to the vet's we found out she had diabetes. My mom tried a special diet for her but Ivy was losing weight dramatically. She went from seventeen pounds to nine pounds in one week. We had to put her down. They are the best of the best dogs and I will remember them forever. They taught me that life isn't always fair but you can make the most of it. They taught me to love straight from the heart and to never regret who you are. I love you, Pixie, Molly, and Ivy!

I had a german shepard/ golden retriever mix that we had to put down when she was 17 years old. I still miss her

i had a german shepherd lab x she came into my life when i was 3, and died in 2007, before i turned 13. the thing was, the vets could have saved her, BUT, there was an unseen tumor hiding behind her heart. so i might not have my dog Jamie if that tumor were somewhere else. I HATE TUMOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was four I had this really sweet pure black lab I named pebbles. Well my dad had pebbles tied up to a tree because pebbles was always getting out of the yard some way and he didn't want her hit by a car. So he thought that was the best way. But of course a dog tied up and shielded from people and other dogs becomes an aggressive dog. SHe didn't die but my dad ended up giving her away to the man who lived on a big farm early one morning while I was asleep. I don't remember much about pebbles except that I remember riding on her back like she was a horse I loved pebbles and she was so protective over me and my brother. I miss her so much.

BTW on one of those days when she used to get out she got pregnant and had puppies and thats how I got to keep Mousey my 10 yr old lab\dalmatian mix. So everywhere Mousey goes I have a little piece of pebbles too!

Actually,I have,it was something mixed with a bulldog.I named her shoosha,i was 2,she was the most perfect dog there was in my eyes,2 years later my dad gave her away when he found out she was part bulldog.I was heartbroken.Later that year he brought home Simba and he filled the void.I try not 2 remember about her.well,thats my story

I think i owe my life to my younger sister, you see she wanted a puppy, and she bought home an American Cocker spaniel.I wasnt to fond of it, you see i was in to bigger active dogs. Little did i know my sister couldnt take care of it so she handed it over to me. Some of the happiest times of my life were wih that dog. He was an all around dog! He did everything. Swam, ran, fetch. The best guard dog i could ever ask for...sadly he was hit by a drunk driver,10'08/06- 12/17/07

you see lucky protected me.Some kids were taunting the dog, and acting as if they would hit me to wound up lucky.So lucky was of, he got one of the kids to the groung, then was after the next...when all of a sudden a car comes speeding....... there i was running up to him, trying to save him covered in his blood from head to toe. it looked as if a horse had gotten hit from all the blood.And the kid just starred at me with a "so" look on his face....we rushed him to the hospital...he had a heart beat...but the damage was to great...

it was the worst night of my life....im only 14, but i know i will never find another quite like him, quite frankly i wouldnt try to replace him.I just wish i could have one more day, even one more hour with him....id give the world to

Kenya... I think I already said this. Then there is Calli, my kitty who hasn't passed away, but I had to give away! Poor little Calli Cue.

My four dogs are the only ones I've ever had, but I've lost many cats, and there are about two, three, or four that stand out in my mind....

Prancer, the best cat EVER. He died three days before Jaxon was born...when I realized that, I really felt like crying. He was a puppy cat. Just like all my other yellow tabbies, followed me everywhere...

Prance was my first cat ever, we derived Prancer's name from him. Even though I lost him when I was about 4, I still had some memories of him...all good, of course. He disappeared, the others mentioned were run over...with the exception of Carson...but I won't mention that...

Socks is another one that stands out. He might've been evil, but he was still my baby...

Prissy. The only one I didn't cry for. Only because Jaxon and Misty wouldn't let me. Callie really reminds me of her. She was only with us for a few months, but she completely took over the house, made best friends with Prancer's mother, and wormed her way into everyone's hearts.

OH, and Carson. Just beacause of the way he died...I cried so much....

Of course, Bagheera, Tiger, and maybe some other cats disappeared, but still..it wasn't the same...

Whoops, I got off topic.

But I did fall for a Beagle at the Humane Society...I loved that dog SO much. She was already like my own...I almost cried when I found out she was adopted, and I NEVER cry. It still hurts really bad, and I've just emerged myself in Beagle stuff today, which has kept me on the verge of tears for a while, now.. I miss that baby. I would've killed for that little dog...

We had a lab mix when I was real little named Butch. My grandmother and grandfather was suppose to take of him while we were away for awhile and ended up giving him away... The coolest memory of him was that we all were playing our front yard with him and the neighbors doberman broke out of his enclosure came over, Butch and the doberman started fighting because he was protecting us. The neighbor came over to get his dog and Butch beat the doberman and the neighbor got mad and took it home to put it back up...

I never had a dog growing up, but when we got married, about 21 Years ago, we got/ I got my first dog.
A Bassethound, named * Benjamin Droopy Franklin*, I loved that dog, we still think about him.
Yeah, he was my 1.dog.

I have had a few dogs in my lifetime so far, but 2 of them will always be in my heart. When I was 4 I got Mister a lab cross he was the light of my life. He passed over the rainbow bridge when I was about 9. I had gone to a 4th of July celebration with my parents. When we came home (we lived on a farm) the road in front of our house was bloody. Mister had dragged himself up our long driveway by our porch and bravely wagged his tail even though he had a fatal injury. It is a memory that is seared into my mind. Brownie was a terrier cross, he lived for about 7 yrs until a mean neighbor shot him. He was a very nice dog to everyone however some people were afraid of him because I taught him how to smile,he would curl his lips back and show his teeth. He was so cute he would take a gunney sack drag it in the barn lay on it and bark at the pigeons or squirrels we had in our grain building. I will always miss them & truly hope Heaven allows dogs in because I want them to be there when it is my time.
