You're a responsible breeder from what I know about you, so there's no reason to.
Congrats on the puppies! Can't wait to see pictures.

RE: Dog Whelping!

I know that a few have posted on here not to let the dog eat the sac after the pup is out but with my dog, we asked the vet when we had our x-rays done and he said that by letting the dog eat the sac, it gives the dog some important stuff from the milk. It doesn't add to the mother's health but it adds to the pup's through the milk. I would talk to a vet before you have another litter about what to do with your dog breed when you take her in for a check up.

RE: Dog Whelping!

what ever you do don't let the mother eat the placenta it has no nutritious value at all and will give her diarrhea

RE: Dog Whelping!

Congrats!! this is late, but when my maltese sugar had her pups last month one was stuck and i had to take her to the vet.she gave birth to one and then nothing after that.i was told to wait 2 hours to give her time to deliver then i took her to the vet for a c-section and only two survived out of five. so if your dog does not deliver a pup after a hour i would take her in i would not wait any longer than that.

RE: Dog Whelping!

Awww, congrats! The only advice i have is to rub the pups when they come out and cut the cord. Also clean up the goop anf the sac or else your dog will eat it, and thats just gross.

KEEP US UPDATED ON THE PUPS!!

Dog Whelping!

My dog, Sarah, is having pups at the moment.
