Well first of all, was sad to see the bulldog go. I don't really understand why he went instead of the schnauzer. The photo of the dog has nothing to really do with "love" and I thought the bulldog did a great photo of "lazy." If anything, the Schnauzer was lazier than the bulldog.

I have to agree with the one poster about Leroy. How did they expect a dog to get angry? That was a bad word to use in a photo shoot so I felt like that wasn't her fault but the shows fault. I also think that the Border collie’s owner shouldn't have lied about the dog liking it.

That is about all I saw of it. My sister came screaming into my room while I was on the phone screaming, "Its, on, it’s on."

I missed the first half of the show because I didn't know it had been moved to Wednesday until someone here was kind enough to PM me that it was on. Anyway, I was sad to see Tillman go. I liked him and his owner. They had a really good relationship, I thought. I really expected one of the ladies in the bottom three to go instead. But I do agree that the word "lazy" was a bit of a cake walk word, and he could have done something a bit more creative with it. But I didn't think his picture was that bad. I think Brandy and Beacon's picture was worse in that regard. Nothing in it came across to me as "love". And I do think the use of the snarl bands or whatever was a really bad decision. I'm sure she could have found some other way to get that "angry" look without using them.

First off, I agree with everything Starry Boy said on the initial post of this thread.
Secondly, maybe its time for the judges to watch some of the interactions of the people with their dogs in the house. This is not your normal reality show. People are working with their dogs to become the Greatest American Dog and what happens if the judges pick a dog in the end that everyone thinks should have been voted off??? Not real good representation.
I agree with a few of the other posters that Star and Presley will be in the finals and I hope they are because they deserve to be there. The love and devotion and bond comes through so loud and clear between dog and owner.
I had no idea it changed to Wednesday night and got a phone call right before the show came on. CBS did not do a good job with the time change. BIG BROTHER must not be doing so well. They have to understand there are many more dog lovers out there so of course we are going to watch the dog show. LOL!!!
Should be very interesting next week.

I'm heartbroken to see Ron and Tillman go. Tillman was a constant comic relief and such fun to watch! The show will never be the same.

I wanted to be mad at the judges, but at soon as Ron said that he planned on coasting through the shoot, I groaned. Especially after being told his performance in the Best in Show ring last week looked like lazy training. Ron's really got no one but himself to blame for not trying harder. Still, I wish he could have slid by one more week...I think we'll all miss him.

I've begun quoting Ron whenever I need to describe my 9 year old pug. He's definitely a farter, not a fighter! Classic, and spoken with love.

Poor Leroy. I'll admit, I'm a professional dog trainer and it'd be hard to get a dog to learn an angry expression in a day or two. Her methods were unnecessarily harsh, though. What got me was in the photo shoot when Leroy went to her side as she was spraying him, trying to get her to stop and trying to get comfort. She jumped away and said "I'm not your mother right now." That, to me, is more cruel than any rubber bands.

Excuse me - Beacon neeeds to go! Not a brain in that dog's head. Andrew gets a helping hand to cheat and gets to stay, Leroy is mistreated for a photo op and gets to stay - Tillman is photograhed in black and white LOOKING like a lazy bulldog and gets criticized - Judges please think a little more before you vote again.

I actually agree with all of this. I think they really need to think long and hard between them as to what they are really looking for in the Greatest American Dog. Because it obviously is none of the three above. I actually am disappointed with the people and dogs chosen except for Presley and Star and two others and that is it. I think they should have screened better. Leroy being mistreated for the photo op to me is very disturbing. I think that should have been an immediate exit. I can live with the helping hand but the mistreatment is hard to swallow.
