You may want to try a shelter in your area and talk to the staff to see what they have your amount exercise they might surprise you with a breed that you never even thought of.

| i personally prefer boxers but i am a little biased we have 4.however boxers are pretty high energy dogs, which is probably more than your looking for.i would also suggest petfinder.com or if you have a petsmart nearby they usually do rescued dog adoptions on the weekends.we foster rescued boxers for a organization that adopts out rescues at petsmart.believe me there are more than you think that need homes, and you would be amazed at the pure breeds you can run accross if your patient. gla on finding your next family member. check out our boxers in the blogs(tornado, prancer, majik, katrina)

I agree that shelters are a fantastic way of finding a great dog. However, it is hard to accurately judge temperment in those conditions. Although the appearance is not necessarily what you are looking for, I'd recommend a Basset Hound. Although medium in size, they are actually a large dog. They have an absolutely WONDERFUL temperment. They are funny, sweet, and have so much character. They do not require a lot of exercise, but will enjoy a daily walk. They love lounging on the couch. Although they do shed a lot, they do not need much grooming other than keeping their nails trim. We had 3 - only one was a big drooler. There are lots of rescue organizations out there.
Dogs Rule!!!
