I really would like a maremma. I live in a rural city. We have a huge yard and I would really enjoy one. It would live either in the house or outdoors with adequate stuff. I would take it on walks and I would like it to be a pet breeders or owners with general knowledge/ if you breed them in nebraska missouri or colorado message me.

| Maremmas are great dogs IF you have livestock that the dog will be guarding but they don't really make good pets. Most of the dogs you'd find would be from working lines and just too intense for the average pet owner. These dogs think independently and they will decide when somethin is a treat and act on it. This means that if the dog decided to attack or if someone got hurt just trying to get away from a large barking, growling dog, you'd be financially liable. If you're considering a Maremma because of the way they look, you'd be better off getting either a Kuvasz or Great Pyrenees from show lines. They still require an experienced dog owner but the "personality" is toned down a bit. You can check out this link to the national breed club:
A dog wags his tail with his heart.

A Marema is a great choice in dog. However, these dogs are difficult to obtain, as they are from Italy. They are somewhat difficult to train, too and dont get along with other dogs. They have high flock gaurding instincts, too. A rural life is going to be extremely difficult, although it may be worth a try. Good luck too you about choosing a dog!
